OUR
MISSION

Mission: To empower and promote the Haitian culture through language proficiency by providing online access to personalized Haitian-Creole tutors.

Vision: Create a worldwide online database of qualified tutors to promote the Haitian culture through language.

Why Haitian-Creole?

Haitian-Creole has over 10 -12 million speakers worldwide. Although its vocabulary is mostly taken from phonetic 18th-century French, its grammar and sentence structure is that of a West African language, particularly the Fon language and Igbo language.  Haitian Creole is influenced by West African Gbe languages.  It also has influences from Spanish, English, Portuguese, Taino, and other West African languages. Haitian-Creole is one of the most revolutionary of languages because it played a big part in liberating Haiti as a free country from France. If you plan on visiting Haiti or have a business opportunity in Haiti, then learning Creole would be a considerable asset to possess. Native Creole speakers also look kindly upon hearing their language spoken by foreigners.

Regardless of your reason for learning Creole, we are always here! You are part of our mission to spread the word about Creole and revive this truly magnificent language and culture.

Values we promote

At Creole Tutors, we are genuinely concerned with the values and principles we promote to our students and tutors. Teaching efforts are reinforced with supportive skills and principles that enhance the students’ learning efforts and experience. In this sense, our learning center promotes a sense of:

  • Belonging and kinship
  • Passion
  • Teamwork
  • Mutual respect
  • Accuracy and rigorousness
  • Industriousness
  • Analytic thinking
  • Dynamic learning

These eight values lie at the very core of our learning center. Our efforts are headed in the right direction, supported by the correct values, and we always achieve the right results. We do things by the book, yet we also think outside the box to devise a dynamic and highly personalized learning environment for our students. Traditional learning systems can be improved by focusing on every student’s specific needs and personal linguistic inadequacies. That is precisely what we aim for at Creole Tutors!
